Tribal origins to Tier one operations

When ThruDark Co-Founders Staz and Louis deployed to the Middle East, they were introduced to the Bedouin jacket, or farwa. A heavy, insulated overcoat originally made from lambskin or wool, it became an essential piece of non-uniform kit for elite units: worn over armour and weapon systems on the way in, discarded before the target. Nicknamed "the lifter jacket" for its use aboard helicopters, it was the go-to layer for those in need and in the know.

"The Shroud embodies the premise on which ThruDark was founded; taking what we had in the military and making it better. The Shroud is lighter, faster drying and frankly smells better than the coats we were cutting about in back then"

Anthony “Staz” Stazicker | Co-Founder
